AXA XL Promotes Lahrmann to Head of International Property

AXA XL announced the promotion of Sabrina Lahrmann to head of International Property, UK & Lloyd’s. Based in London, she started her new role on Nov. 1, 2025.

In her new role, Lahrmann will be responsible for developing and executing the underwriting strategy for AXA XL’s International Property Retail business in the UK and Lloyd’s market.

Lahrmann has over 20 years of insurance market experience, the majority of this in underwriting and risk management. She was previously underwriting manager for AXA XL’s, UK & Lloyd’s, International Property team, a role she has held since May 2024. She joined AXA XL in 2022 from AXA UK. She has also worked for Allianz, where she started her career.

“Our clients continue to face into a complex and ever-changing risk environment driven by multiple factors ranging from fluctuating property prices to geopolitical instability to regulatory requirements,” said Ben Kinsella, head of Risk Managed, Retail, UK & Lloyd’s.

“Coupled with insured natural catastrophe losses reaching $137 billion globally in 2024 and expected to be higher in the future, the need for expertise and experience is vital,” Kinsella added.

Fidelis Insurance Group Taps IQUW’s Waddell-Dudley as UK CUO

Fidelis Insurance Holdings Ltd., the Bermuda-based global specialty insurer, announced the appointment of William Waddell-Dudley as UK chief underwriting officer.

Waddell-Dudley brings over 20 years of experience to his new role. Prior to joining Fidelis Insurance Group, Waddell-Dudley served as lead underwriter, Specialty Reinsurance, at IQUW, where he had a specific focus on marine, energy, cyber, and aviation lines of business.

Waddell-Dudley has held the position of head of Accident and Health for both AmTrust at Lloyd’s and Talbot Underwriter. He began his career as an underwriter for AIG and Hiscox.

Waddell-Dudley will work closely with the Bermuda and Ireland chief underwriting officers to shape the company’s underwriting strategy and drive innovation within the London operations. He will report to group chief underwriting officer Ian Houston.
